The 2nd One-Day International Conference on Construction Law and Arbitration proved to be a dynamic and well-attended event, drawing participation from over 250 delegates. Attendees included a diverse cross-section of professionals such as legal practitioners, arbitrators, Hon’ble judges, in-house counsel, contractors, project managers, representatives from government authorities, delay and quantum experts, planning managers, consulting engineers, academicians, and students.
The inaugural session was graced by the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajesh Bindal, Judge, Hon’ble Supreme Court of India; Hon’ble Justice Advait Sethna, Judge, Hon’ble Bombay High Court; Hon’ble Justice (Retd.) Indu Malhotra, Former Judge, Hon’ble Supreme Court of India; Mr. Alexander G. Fessas, Secretary General, ICC International Court of Arbitration; Mr. Bhushan Gagrani, IAS, representing the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai; and Mr. Ratan K. Singh, Chairman, SCL-India.
Throughout the conference, eminent speakers delivered insightful sessions on a range of topical issues, including the SCL Delay and Disruption Protocol (2017), the application of Artificial Intelligence in construction disputes, legal frameworks governing concurrent delays, the distinct nature of construction arbitration, the role of delay experts and methodologies for delay analysis, and claim quantification in construction disputes.
The conference successfully fostered a robust dialogue among key stakeholders and reaffirmed the importance of strengthening the dispute resolution framework within India’s construction sector.
