The 5th SCL-India Biennial International Conference on Construction Law & Arbitration, 2025, organised by the Society of Construction Law – India (SCL-India), was held from 5th to 7th December 2025 at The Lalit, New Delhi, under the theme “The Future of Construction Disputes: Navigating Change in India and Beyond.” The conference attracted over 350 delegates, including Hon’ble judges, arbitrators, senior legal practitioners, engineers, in-house counsel, government representatives, industry professionals, academicians, and students from India and across the globe.
The inaugural session was graced by the presence of distinguished dignitaries and thought leaders from the judiciary, arbitration institutions, government, and the construction industry, reflecting the international stature of the conference. Eminent speakers from India and overseas delivered insightful addresses and participated in panel discussions on a wide range of contemporary issues, including proof and evidence in construction disputes, delay analysis, claim for overheads and profitability, cross-examination in arbitration, subcontracting and back-to-back contracts, defects liability, mediation, and early neutral evaluation.
Across three days of engaging sessions, the conference provided a robust platform for meaningful dialogue between legal and technical stakeholders, fostering knowledge exchange and best practices in construction dispute resolution. The event reaffirmed SCL-India’s continued commitment to advancing construction law and arbitration in India and strengthening the country’s position as an emerging global hub for construction arbitration.
